A true Gargoyle has an open mouth, to do his or her job as a rainspout. All the above are Chimeras aka “Grotesques.” You’re teaching the public, please tell them the difference.

About Gargoyles of NY

Follow me on my journey as I comb the streets of New York City, discovering and photographing its Gargoyles, Grotesques and Chimeras. These often times whimsical carved-stone, metal or wood masterpieces are usually high above the eye's view, too far to be appreciated and hardly ever noticed.
